2022 Human Rights Fiesta and Write for Rights

Amnesty International Nigeria today marked the Human Rights Day and Write for Rights with a Human Rights fiesta.

Every year around International Human Rights Day in December, Amnesty supporters across the globe write millions of letters, solidarity messages, petitions, and postcards for individuals whose basic human rights are being attacked.
This year is the 21st anniversary of Amnesty International’s Write for Rights event. Nine cases of human rights defenders from Russia, Hong Kong, Cameroon, France, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Morocco , Iran and Cuba will be featured this year.

The event featured a keynote speech by Stand To End Rape (STER) founder and executive director, Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi, dance drama presentation by …., spoken word by Ruth Mahogany and poetry by Valentine Onyeka Ogunaka, artistically known as Brainbox or OV Onyeka.
