Nigeria: Amnesty International Nigeria Congratulates Osai Ojigho on International Appointment

The Board of Directors of Amnesty International Nigeria wishes to congratulate Mrs Osai Ojigho, our Nigeria Country Director, on her appointment as the new global Policy and Campaigns Director for Christian Aid starting 6 March 2023. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the organisation’s advocacy and public campaigning, and its research, policy, and learning.

Since her appointment as the Country Director of Amnesty International Nigeria in April 2017, Osai Ojigho has managed the country office and the team in Abuja, Nigeria.

Osai has been nothing short of a dedicated, hardworking and committed professional who has led the organisation to greater heights. She brought innovation, agility and creativity to the programs, research, advocacy, and campaigns work in Nigeria. This increased Amnesty International Nigeria’s media profile and visibility on critical human rights issues on Nigeria at national, regional and international policy spaces,

During her tenure, Amnesty International won the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism Anti-Corruption Defender Honorary Award (Human Rights Specialty) in 2019 and the CSR-in-Action 2021 Community and Human Rights (CAHR) winner for Equality Rights.
